STONE SOUR To Play Russia For First Time

September 6, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: STONE SOUR will play its first-ever show in Russia on October 18, at the RAMP Awards in Moscow. STONE SOUR vocalist Corey Taylor, whose other band SLIPKNOT has never appeared in Russia either, told Launch the gig is part of STONE SOUR's plan to play as many places as possible. "I mean, we're really looking forward to it, and the main thing we wanted to do on this tour cycle was to get to all the places that we didn't get to go to last time," he said. "And we've already done that by going to Japan, Russia will be a big one, hopefully get down to do Australia, do some South American shows, do an extended tour of Canada...I mean just, if we want to go somewhere, we're gonna go."

The event will precede a series of European dates for the group, most of which will also feature FLYLEAF. STONE SOUR has European dates booked through November 9th, after which the band is scheduled to return to the U.S. and join DISTURBED on the Music As A Weapon tour, also with FLYLEAF.

STONE SOUR is touring in support of its second album, "Come What(ever) May", which follows up its 2002 self-titled debut.

The band is currently on the Family Values tour with KORN, DEFTONES, 10 YEARS and FLYLEAF, which pulls into Cleveland, Ohio tonight (Wednesday, September 6).
